Sorting

Sorting changes the order in which data appears in lists or grids. Sorting the data is a quick method to locate a record. If you sort multiple columns, the first column selected is the column used for the primary sorting of the data. 

Tip

To rearrange the order of the columns in a data view, create a custom view, which allows you to select columns and define their order in the view. See Create a New Data View.

  • Click the text of a column heading title to activate a sort. A small arrow appears to the right of the title.

  • Click the column heading title again to change the sort from ascending (up arrow) to descending (down arrow). 

  • Click the column heading title again to removing the sorting. 

  • Move the mouse pointer to any sorted column to show a tooltip of the current sort order.
